Nihao! In Interactive Chinese, students learn the basics of the Chinese language while participating in fun language learning activities. Our philosophy is you don't learn language from just textbooks, and you don't learn effectively without fun!  Beginner and intermediate levels will be accommodated.

KARATE (K-4th)                                                                   Zdenko “Coach Z” Slobodnick

PIANO II:  BLUES, JAZZ, ROCK & POP! (1st-4th)               Kathy Hart

Learn the blues as well as several pop, jazz and rock songs based on it.  A surprising number of songs are based on the blues (Take Batman for example!) and learning about blues opens up the piano player to the world of pop, jazz and rock.  Improvisation, composition and ensemble playing will be the emphasis of this class as students take in the flavor of this social, yet self-expressive genre.  They will

learn to perform as a class, playing standard repertoire (and a little singing) as well as making up their own music.  (Pre-requisite: One year of piano study at Claremont or one year of private study).
