A Corbin’s chaperoned bus picks up students afterschool to bring them to Randall’s Island or an Upper East Side gym where children are taught by means of a “Skills, Drills, & Thrills” program.Coaches focus on fundamental skills and teach these through fun & exciting, age-appropriate drills, then conclude with a game. Following the program, students will be transported home (between 5:45 – 6:30 pm).
FILM MAKING and FILM ACTING (2nd-6th) Take Two Film Academy
DOUBLE SESSION:THIS CLASS WILL RUN FROM 3:15 until 5:00 pm.
Lights, camera, action! Learn how to make and/or act in a film.Students work together to write, act, shoot and edit their own short films.Every student is invited to participate in all aspects or just their areas of interest. At the end of the term teams will have at least one film that they have made, put on DVD and posted online.Professional equipment, cameras, audio & editing software is provided.

The “Bean Sprouts” class is extremely imaginative and interactive.It teaches and expands on all age-appropriate yoga poses and activities, while incorporating simple explanations of yoga techniques, words and meanings.Children are reminded to be patient with themselves as they learn new skills and acquire new knowledge.
BLOCK BUILDING BONANZA! (K-1st) Andrea Yost
New York is the building capital of the world… and Claremont Prep is the block building capital of NY!Each week this class will create new gravity-defying formations as students work together to develop skills and teamwork while having an amazing time.
INTERACTIVE CHINESE (K-3rd) Hills Learning
Nihao! In Interactive Chinese, students learn the basics of the Chinese language while participating in fun language learning activities. They also get to experience authentic Chinese culture through activities such as Calligraphy. Our philosophy is you don't learn language from just textbooks, and you don't learn effectively without fun! Beginner and intermediate levels will be accommodated.
KARATE (K-4th) Zdenko “Coach Z” Slobodnick
In this class children develop respect and discipline in a fun environment.Through a combination of basic martial arts techniques, mental exercises, & fitness-inspired games, students will have the opportunity to grow while building self-confidence, self-awareness, and focus in a class tailored for young students.A karate uniform is recommended but not required for stripe promotions throughout the semester.

AVIATION CLUB – MODEL AIRPLANES!(1st-4th) The Hobby Quest
Join the Claremont Prep model airplane academy!In addition to building and flying airplanes, this class will also focus on and integrate math, physics, history, and much more!Students will make several airplanes during the semester.
ART PARTY! (1st-4th)Devin Febbroriello
A hodgepodge of creation…and a whole lot of fun. Students will use different materials to create art they can dress up in- masks, hats, & jewelry!The class will conclude with learning how to make small papier mache piñatas, a big hit at any party.
PIANO II: BLUES, JAZZ, ROCK & POP! (1st-4th) Kathy Hart
Learn the blues as well as several pop, jazz and rock songs based on it. A surprising number of songs are based on the blues (Take Batman for example!) and learning about blues opens up the piano player to the world of pop, jazz and rock. Improvisation, composition and ensemble playing will be the emphasis of this class as students take in the flavor of this social, yet self-expressive genre. They will
learn to perform as a class, playing standard repertoire (and a little singing) as well as making up their own music.(Pre-requisite: One year of piano study at Claremont or one year of private study).
