The Middle School program was created to provide the students with a challenging yet compassionate school experience. Amid academically challenging classes, is the understanding that students need to learn skills in context to be successful learners. Students who request additional support or challenges are welcome to meet with teachers before, during or after the school day.
We recognize that Middle School is more that just academics. Each student is part of a small homeroom advisory group. In the morning, we meet as an entire Middle School, as a grade level or as a homeroom advisory group. During these times, we support the students by addressing a variety of relevant adolescent issues, such as communicating effectively with peers. Integrated into the curriculum are clubs driven by students and teacher interest which students can sign up for on a trimester basis. Some recent examples are environmental club, chess and portfolio art.
Activities available to Middle School students include Student Council, Newspaper, Yearbook and Literary Magazine.
