The Middle School Science program is inquiry based and engages students as they learn scientific concepts and methods through hands-on activities including experiments, data collections, presentations, field trips, and interactive websites. Each grade has time in the science lab where they further develop their technical, conceptual, research, and lab science writing skills. In addition to the grade level curriculum, in-depth studies of newsworthy events facilitates their understanding of the relevance and implications of science in their daily lives.
5th grade: Ecology

8th grade: Chemistry
All Middle School students participate in the Science Fair. This project provides the students with the opportunity to study a topic of personal interest. The project starts with compilation of questions created by each student. Working with their teachers, the students then chose one question on which to create an experiment, controlling for specific variables. After collecting data over a period of time, the students analyze their results, write up their conclusion and present their project at our Middle School Science Fair.
